I'm a very late arrival to Order of the Stick - once I found the web comic I then had to stay up all night catching up with the 230 pages out so far. One of the funniest - for me, anyway, and the other players in the Tuesday D&D game - is
#140.

My halfling monk character, Ha Bei Jan Sau Si (Chinese for "Halfling Monk"), has a riding dog called Daai Gau (Chinese for "Big Dog"). As you can see, a lot of effort went into finding those names. :-)

This is the Manicouagan Crater in northern Canada, one of the oldest impact craters known - formed during a tremendous impact about 200 million years ago. It now supports a 45-mile diameter hydroelectric reservoir in the telltale form of an annular lake - that is the same size as the M25 motorway! The crater itself has been worn away by the passing of glaciers and the weather but the hard rock still shows much of the impact structure.

Sunday night is film night and tonight meant an advance showing of “The Curse of the Were-Rabbit”. It’s a cracking film and well worth the wait. Apparently five years in the making for 100 minutes or so – no wonder it looks so good. There are so many references to other films that it’s a delight to look out for what Park will put in next. Special mention for the Penguin computer generated short that precedes “Curse” – very fast and furious. |

- Where Cape Cod is (near Boston)
- What a weird shape it is (Provincetown Harbour looks like a kind of fishing hook)
